I just wanted every one to know that Kim just added a new page to her web site. It show examples of many of her personalized gifts. On the left sidebar of each page is a link to "What your personalized gift will look like."  Here you will see how consistant and clear Kim's caligraphy is. She has posted 38 different products personalized in a variety of ways. You are not limited to just a name. Take a look and see how different some of the gifts are personalized.

I had a wonderful opportunity to chat with my niece last week and she reports that Miss Juliette Cady is doing very well. She is performing her job of keeping Mom and Dad up all night perfectly. My other niece (Mom's sister) came to help out the first week home from the hospital and she also had her share of sleep deprevation.

My niece and her husband held out all through her pregnancy on telling us the name of her baby. She told us the gender when she first found out, but all we could do is guess and make suggestions as to her name.

Remember the days when we would get 'dolled up' and kick up our heels on a Saturday night?  Well, by the time you are a grandma, things change a bit.  I don't do as much 'dolling up', and I haven't kicked any thing but the refrigerator door in years. But tonight after a meeting, 3 of us grandma's went out for a chinese dinner.

I was thinking today of when my little girl came home from day care with a Valentines Card for me. It was an adorable red construction paper heart pasted on a white paper doile. Her baby scrawl in crayon said something to the effect of "I love you Mommy". I am sure I still have it and all the ones that followed from her and my son. Unfortunately they are packed in a box somewhere. After 30 years those works of art don't hold up very well.

My most memorable Valentine's Day fell on a Saturday that all my kids, step-kids, foster-kids and inlaws were around. I did a grand dinner with little valentine cards and gifts at each place. I think my husband had to rig up a sheet of plywood to make a table big enough for all! I bought a length of pink fabric for a table cloth and sprinkled it with heart shaped glitter. For the life of me I can't remember the menu, but I do recall serving pink lemonade!

Good bye 2007, Hello 2008!

While Christmas is my favorite holiday with all the decorations and lights and beautiful church services, I'm always relieved when the holidays are over.

January is a time of beginning anew and returning to normal. Even here in South Carolina the air chilled and crisp. On my daily walk I am already seeing buds showing on the camelias and azalias. So, all bodes well for a good year.

I just came back from visiting with my family in Winston Salem, NC. North Carolina may seem like the south to many people, but let me tell you it was COLD!  I live in South Carolina and am used to living in tank tops year round, so the cold and damp was a shock to my bones.

Wow! Have you seen Kim's new front page? I really think it looks great. If you haven't looked recently you should take a look.

It features our new "cover girl" Blythe. She is only 5 years old and already beginning a modeling career. It sounds like a lot of work for such a little thing.

My sister Susan was born on December 27th, 3 and 1/2 years before me. Of the four children in our family, she was the only one with a winter birthday. The rest of us had birthdays in July and August. Those were great birthdays, in the middle of the summer and were always the occasion of barbeques and other festivities. But, Susan frequently missed out by being 2 days after Christmas. While relatives sent us birthday cards and gifts, her's was sometimes forgotten or 'included' with her Christmas gift.
