Changing seasons

In spite of the fact that I am deep in my 50's, I find myself responding to season changes the same as I did when I was much younger.

Last August I had an unexplainable urge to shop for clothes. The old school shopping need doesn't go away because I am no longer in school or have no children in school. With the holidays approaching, I am having the strongest urge to start cooking. Perhaps I have the instinct to squirrel food away for the winter. Or, perhaps I want to start in on those holiday cookies and desserts. But needless to say I have been cooking like I need to feed an army for a week now.

The cool weather has now arrived in South Carolina. The days still get into the 80's but the nights are pleasently fresh. I actually needed a sweater finally. Also, today was mild enough during the day, that I had the air conditioner off until late afternoon.

The weather is beautiful though, and we are all relieved at the cooling and a bit of rain now and again. Being as where I live in South Carolina is "piney woods", our leaves don't turn like other parts of the country and I miss that from when I lived in Oregon.

Kim is done with all her summer shows and has a month break before heading to Arizona for a 5 month long show. I will let you know more about where she will be as soon as I have all the details.

I hope you and your children are enjoying the change of seasons as much as we are. Don't forget to dress your babies a bit warmer. If you have the time take a look at all Kim's t-shirt designs and remember you can order them in Long Sleeved Onesies.

Having some fun,

Grandma Helen

Hi Grandma Helen, I enjoy reading your blog. I am about to become a granny for the first time, and have discovered a new, or should i say resurgence in the need to shop. I am really keen to buy some gifts for mom and baby, i found sites like www.icklebabe.com and others that sell organic items, have you any sites to recommend?
