Remember the days when we would get 'dolled up' and kick up our heels on a Saturday night?  Well, by the time you are a grandma, things change a bit.  I don't do as much 'dolling up', and I haven't kicked any thing but the refrigerator door in years. But tonight after a meeting, 3 of us grandma's went out for a chinese dinner.

It is such great fun to get out with friends. I am sure the entire restaurant was horrified at us as we giggled and laughed and cackled at each others stories.  You know what we were laughing about? Our kids, and all the crazy things they did and do. We also laughed at the crazy things we did when we were their age. The concensus was that we were far crazier than any of our kids.

Of course there were stories of babies and grandbabies and great nieces and nephews. It was all fun and hilarious. I always thought the best part of being a grand parent was being able to enjoy the kids without all the responsibility of cleaning up after them. But after tonight, I think the best part is telling and hearing all the great stories of our lives.

So, if you are a young mom reading this blog and you are faced with the fact that there is a week old pile of diapers you forgot you stashed in the back bathroom before company came over, relax. In 30 years or so, it will make a great story for Grandma's Night Out!
