Valentines Gifts for Mom
I was thinking today of when my little girl came home from day care with a Valentines Card for me. It was an adorable red construction paper heart pasted on a white paper doile. Her baby scrawl in crayon said something to the effect of "I love you Mommy". I am sure I still have it and all the ones that followed from her and my son. Unfortunately they are packed in a box somewhere. After 30 years those works of art don't hold up very well.
But one year my husband wised up a bit and in addition to the construction paper hearts he purchased a small but nice gift for the kids to present to me with the cards. They were so proud of the gift and cards. And while the construction paper hearts are now brittle, that small gift still sits on my dining room table. Whenever I look at it, I remember.
I remember all the hearts, all the little hand prints and all the little gifts my children blessed me with. I remember all the smiles and hugs and kisses they gave me.
So, Mom, don't be timid about dropping a little hint to Dad. A sweet keepsake gift from your baby on Valentines Day is for reminding you of all the special moments in the years to come.
This is one of my favorite items that Kidoodles by Kim carries. And it is so perfect for Mom's desk at work, or the kitchen counter at home. The wires sprouting up from the Fairy's back are split rings that you can insert photos or messages in. The small hook on each wire is strong enough to hang a key on.
Kim can personalized this any way you like. Personalize it with your baby's name or maybe just "I love you, mommy." Either way it will be a wonderful keepsake gift after all the paper hearts have crumbled.
Enjoy your babies,
Grandma Helen
