Kids Love Valentine's Day
I remember as a kid making Valentine Cards. She loaded up on red construction paper and doilies and brought out bits of colored ribbon to decorate. She always insisted that we make Valentines cards for all of our classmates, as she felt someone left out could be hurt.
She knew what she was about, because at the end of the day, every one would count up the Valentine's they got and the kids with only one or two were always the least popular kids. I know they went home in pain.
When you work with your child on either purchased or home made cards, be sure you include all the children in the class. No one should be left out of this very social holiday. Your childs classmates will appreciate being thought of.
In case your child is a bit shy, and runs the risk of comming home with only a few cards, be prepared to soothe their feelings. It may also be a good time to help out with their learning to socialize by connecting with other moms in their class, or checking with their teacher to see if there are problems going on.
In either case, make sure you have a great Valentine card or gift for your child when they get home. Kidoodles by Kim has some great room signs for boys and girls.
